Native Hawaiian flowers. According to reader Bob Benner, they are " 'Red Pine Cone Gingers' - Zingiber zerumbet (and an especially nice photo at that) & what is perhaps be some purple leaved cultivar of a marantaceae in the photo".  Thanks, Bob!
