60th Birthday Quarantine Beard

This is the very first in the COVID Beard series of self-portraits. The full caption read: “Today I turn 60. Haven’t gone anywhere for 3 months. Haven’t taken an interesting picture. Haven’t hugged the grandkids. People aren’t taking the pandemic seriously. The U.S. is tearing itself apart. (Again.) My Dad died. My best friend is suicidal. I’ve watched the Internet morph from a knowledge-sharing tool for research institutions to a massive cesspool of ignorance. Truth doesn’t matter. But at least I’ve got this quarantine beard.”
